Music to Work — free focus music that stays out of your way.
Music to Work is a free, lyrics-free online focus music player built for deep work, study, motivation, creativity, learning, light work, sleep, and meditation. Press play and let brainwave-engineered audio carry you through your next 25 to 90 minutes.
Pick the activity that matches the cognitive demand of your next 30 to 90 minutes. Deep Work is tight and mid-tempo for analytical tasks like coding, financial review, or contract drafting. Motivation is more upbeat for output-heavy sprints where you need drive. Creativity is looser and unpredictable so your ideas keep branching. Learning is slow and gentle for memory consolidation. Light Work is the quietest mode for inboxes, scheduling, and admin. Sleep and Meditation round out the catalog for end-of-day rest.
Music to Work is engineered to be ignored: no lyrics, no sudden drops, no memorable hooks. Every track loops seamlessly so your attention stays on the work, not the track. There’s a built-in session timer that counts up, a queue you can fill with your favorites, and a Recently Played list that follows you between sessions.
What you’re listening to.
Slow Burn Drift
Slow Burn Drift is a long, steady ambient mix designed for sustained analytical work. The mid range holds a soft, slowly-evolving pad that masks the keyboard clicks and refrigerator hums that usually break concentration. There is no rhythmic urgency, no bright treble spikes, and no lyrics — just a wide, soft field of sound that you can leave on for hours.
Use it for tasks where mistakes are costly: coding, financial review, contract drafting, exam study, or any deep work where you need to keep your attention on the same thing for more than 25 minutes.
Built around getting you to flow state faster.
Five purpose-built activity modes, a count-up timer that doesn’t break your flow, and a queue that remembers what actually worked for you. No login walls. No trial countdown.
Five activity modes
Deep Work, Motivation, Creativity, Learning, and Light Work — each with its own tempo, density, and harmonic mix. One click to switch contexts.
Session timer
Counts up rather than down. Start a 25-minute sprint or let a session run 90 minutes to match your ultradian rhythm — no alarms unless you set them.
Like & Recently Played
Heart any track you want to come back to. We remember the last tracks you played so a good mix is always one tap away.
Headphone-optimized mix
Stereo imaging is mixed for headphones, but translates cleanly to laptop speakers — quiet on the lows, clear in the mids where office noise lives.
Sessions stay on your device
Liked tracks, recent plays, and your last activity mode are saved locally. No account, no sync required, nothing leaves the browser.
Built for sustained output
No lyrics, no sudden drops, no listener-fication. Tracks loop seamlessly so the music never interrupts you to remind you it’s there.
Infinite or timed sessions
Press play and let it run, or set a hard stop at 30, 60, or 120 minutes. Pomodoro-style intervals with separate work and rest lengths are built in too.
Quotes between sprints
Turn on Activate Quotes and the timer fades out a thoughtful line every two minutes — a gentle nudge instead of another notification.
Get into the zone in three moves.
There is no sign-up, no onboarding quiz, no credit card. Pick the task in front of you, press play, and the music does the rest.
Pick your activity
Open the menu in the top-left of the player and pick the activity that matches the next 30 to 90 minutes of work. Hit Apply.
Press play
Tap the center button. The timer starts counting up. The queue starts with a track tuned for the activity you just chose.
Stay in flow
Like a track you want to keep coming back to. Open the queue any time to revisit your favorites or jump back to a track you played yesterday.
Three tracks in, switch
If the activity stops matching what you’re doing, switch it. The player recalibrates the next track automatically — no need to stop the session.
A few mixes to start with.
The library is hand-curated. These are the tracks users come back to most often — useful as a starting point if you don’t know what to play.

Short essays on deep work, the science of focus music, and the habits that keep you in the zone.
Questions about focus music.
What is focus music and why does it help with deep work?
Focus music is audio engineered to mask distractions and gently entrain your brain into a productive state. Layered ambient pads, soft pulses, and slow rhythmic patterns reduce the loudness of sudden noises so your attention stays anchored on the task in front of you. For deep work specifically, the right track keeps the mind alert without demanding active listening, so you can write, code, design, or study for hours without drifting.
Which activity should I pick — Deep Work, Motivation, Creativity, Learning, or Light Work?
Pick the activity that matches the cognitive demand of the next 30 to 90 minutes. Deep Work is for analytical, error-sensitive tasks like coding or financial review. Motivation is for output-heavy sprints where you need drive — tight loops, slightly higher energy, more uplift. Creativity suits divergent tasks — brainstorms, sketching, writing — and is intentionally less predictable so your ideas don’t converge too early. Learning is paced, low-tempo, and gentle on memory consolidation. Light Work is for inboxes, scheduling, and admin where focus is helpful but the work isn’t fragile.
Is this focus music player really free?
Yes. Every track in the library can be played in full for free in your browser. There is no account required to start, no trial countdown, and no locked features. A paid tier adds longer offline sessions, high-fidelity audio, and full library export, but the core experience of pressing play and getting into the zone is free forever.
How long should a focus session be?
Most people get the best return from sessions between 25 and 90 minutes. A short 25-minute sprint is great for getting started and for first-of-the-day inertia; a 50-minute session matches a Pomodoro double; a 90-minute session aligns with the natural ultradian cycle of attention. The built-in timer counts up rather than down so you can stop whenever your task is done — there is no alarm to break your flow unless you set one.
Can I use focus music for studying or while reading?
Yes. The Learning mode is specifically tuned for study and reading. It is the slowest, softest mode in the library: long sustained tones, sparse rhythmic movement, and a wide stereo field that doesn’t tug your eyes toward a focal point. If you are doing language learning, dense textbook reading, or exam revision, switch to Learning. If you are doing flashcards or recall drills, switch to Deep Work.
Will the music distract me? I usually find music annoying when I work.
Focus music is engineered to be the opposite of attention-grabbing music. There are no lyrics, no sudden drops, no busy drum patterns, no bright treble spikes. The mix is centered around the mid and low frequencies where background noise lives, so the music quietly fills that band instead of competing with it. If you normally find music distracting, start with Light Work — it is the most transparent and quietest mode in the player.
About Musicto.Work
Most focus music works against you. Playlists are built for listening, not working: a three-minute song ends, an algorithm interrupts, a vocal hook pulls your mind off the problem you were halfway through solving. And the apps that do treat music as a working tool usually greet you with a signup wall before you've heard a single note.
Musicto.Work started from the opposite assumption: you should be able to open a page, press play, and get to work. No account. No trial countdown ticking over the play button. Just long-form instrumental tracks engineered for the state your task demands — steadier rhythms for deep work, softer textures for winding down, slow ambient layers for sleep.
Why the tracks sound the way they do
Every track here is composed to a set of working rules: no lyrics, no memorable hooks, no sudden transitions, and long continuous runtimes — mostly 30 minutes or more — so the music can sit underneath your attention instead of competing with it. It's not music built to be admired. It's built to be forgotten in the best possible way, while you get on with the work.
We also keep the metadata honest. Duration, tempo, and intensity level are written on each track's page, so you can pick with information instead of guessing from a cover image. If you want a quiet 75 BPM bed for studying, you shouldn't have to audition ten tracks to find it.
Who it's for
Knowledge workers who need long, uninterrupted blocks — developers, writers, analysts, students. People who keep a playlist running through the workday and want it to stay out of the way. And people who've found that ordinary background music is either too distracting or too boring to sustain: the library spans enough variety, from lofi to post-rock to nature soundscapes, to match both the task and the mood.
Who's behind it
Musicto.Work is built and run by Jacob, a solo developer who spent years trying to engineer his own deep-work routine and kept running into the same wall: tools that wanted an account, an install, or a subscription before proving they helped at all. This site is the player he wanted to exist — free to start, browser-based, and honest about what music can and can't do for your focus.
Launched in 2026 and updated regularly as the library grows. One thing we won't claim: that music is a treatment for anything. It's a working environment, not medicine — see our Terms for the plain-English version of that boundary.
Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 1, 2026. This policy explains what Musicto.Work collects, why, and what control you have over it. The short version: the player is local-first — your listening history stays on your device unless you sign in.
What we collect
- On-device data. Liked tracks, recently played tracks, your last activity mode, timer settings, and other preferences are stored in your browser's local storage. This never leaves your device unless you sign in.
- Account data (if you sign in). When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account. We also store your synced listening data — liked tracks, recently played tracks, and preferences — so it follows you between devices.
- Payment data (if you subscribe). Payments are processed by Stripe. We never receive or store your full card details; Stripe handles card data on our behalf and shares only the billing status we need to manage your subscription.
- Server logs. Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure processes standard technical logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and fraud prevention.
Why we use it
- To operate the player and remember your preferences (on-device data — legitimate interest);
- To authenticate you and sync your library across devices when you sign in (contract performance);
- To process subscriptions and prevent payment fraud (contract performance and legitimate interest);
- To keep the service secure and abuse-free (legitimate interest).
We do not run advertising networks on this site, we do not sell your personal data, and we do not track what you listen to for marketing purposes.
Third-party services we rely on
Google Sign-In — powers the "Sign in with Google" option. Google receives your sign-in interaction under its own terms. Google's Privacy Policy
Supabase — stores account records and your synced listening data (liked and recently played tracks, preferences) in a hosted database. Supabase's Privacy Policy
Stripe — processes subscription payments when you choose to subscribe. Stripe acts as the data controller for payment details you enter at checkout. Stripe's Privacy Policy
We also use standard cloud hosting and CDN providers to serve the site itself. These providers process only technical request data needed to deliver pages and audio files.
Cookies
The player does not use advertising or analytics cookies. The only cookies set on this site are session cookies from the sign-in flow, used to keep you logged in. You can clear them anytime through your browser settings; clearing them signs you out but doesn't affect tracks saved on your device.
Your rights
GDPR (EU/UK). You have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. Our lawful bases are listed above.
CCPA/CPRA (California). You have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of sale or sharing — we don't sell or share personal information as those terms are defined, so there is nothing to opt out of, and we treat all users the same way regardless of state.
To exercise any right, email gptproto.team@gmail.com. We respond within 30 days. Because listening data is stored locally by default, deleting your browser data removes it immediately and completely.
Data retention, transfers, and children
- Retention. On-device data persists until you clear it. Account and sync data persists while your account is active and is deleted within 30 days of an account deletion request.
- International transfers. Our service providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, transfers rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards offered by the provider.
- Children. Musicto.Work is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK), and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will delete it.
- Security. Data in transit is encrypted (HTTPS); account data at rest is protected by our database provider's encryption and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we apply industry-standard measures.

If we change this policy materially — for example, if we add an analytics or advertising service — we'll update the date above and, where the change is significant, notify you in the product before it takes effect.

Effective date: September 1, 2026. By using Musicto.Work you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
1. The service
Musicto.Work is a browser-based focus music player. It streams instrumental tracks organized by activity — deep work, study, relaxation, meditation, sleep — along with timers and listening queues. The core player is free and works without an account. A subscription unlocks the full library and long-form listening after your free trial ends.
2. Accounts
Signing in is optional and currently offered through Google. You're responsible for keeping your Google account secure and for the accuracy of the information your sign-in provider shares with us. Notify us immediately at gptproto.team@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
3. Acceptable use
- Don't scrape, bulk-download, or systematically copy tracks or site content.
- Don't resell, redistribute, or repackage the music, and don't use automated tools to access the service.
- Don't interfere with the service's operation or other users' ability to use it.
- Don't use the service for any unlawful purpose.
We may suspend or terminate access for conduct that violates these rules.
4. Intellectual property
The Musicto.Work platform — site, code, design, and branding — is owned by the operator. All tracks are produced for or licensed to the platform. You receive a personal, non-exclusive license to listen via the service. You may not redistribute tracks, upload them elsewhere, or use them as background audio in monetized content (videos, podcasts, apps) without a separate license — contact us if you need one.
5. Payments and subscriptions
- Free trial. New accounts get a 3-day free trial with full access. After the trial, the free player remains available; the full library requires a subscription.
- Billing. Subscriptions are billed through Stripe in the currency shown at checkout. Plans renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle (monthly or yearly, per your selection) until canceled.
- Cancellation. You can cancel anytime from your account or by emailing us. Cancellation stops future billing; your access continues to the end of the paid period. No partial-period refunds are issued for unused time unless required by law.
- Refunds. If you were charged in error or a technical fault on our side blocked your access, contact us within 14 days of the charge and we'll make it right, up to and including a full refund.
- Price changes. If we change prices, existing subscribers are notified by email at least 14 days before the new price applies to their next renewal.
6. Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available." We work hard to keep it running, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability, and we don't commit to a specific uptime percentage. We disclaim all implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement to the fullest extent permitted by law.
7. Health disclaimer
Musicto.Work is a music service, not a medical device and not a treatment of any kind. Nothing on this site — including references to focus, relaxation, meditation, or sleep — constitutes medical advice, diagnosis, or therapy. Music is not a substitute for care from a qualified clinician. If you have a health condition, a sleep disorder, or attention-related concerns, talk to a healthcare professional.
8. Limitation of liability and indemnity
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or work product, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or $20 if you never paid). You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your violation of these terms or your unlawful use of the service.
9. Termination
You can stop using the service anytime. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, abuse the service, or create legal risk for us — with notice when practicable. If your paid subscription is terminated by us for reasons other than your violation, we'll refund the unused portion of the current billing period.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts located there, unless applicable law gives you the right to resolve them elsewhere.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date, and significant changes will be announced in the product or by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
12. Contact
